How to view the wifi password on iOS/Android phone when connected?
Welcome to Blackview (Well-known brand of rugged smartphone) blog. Hope the guide helps.
Unfortunately, due to security restrictions, it's not possible to directly view the Wi-Fi password you're currently connected to on your phone, whether it's Android or iPhone. This is to prevent unauthorized access and protect your network security.

However, there are alternative methods depending on your situation and phone model:
On Android (Android 11 and above):
- Share Password with a Connected Device: If you have another Android device connected to the same Wi-Fi network, you can use the "Nearby Share" feature to share the password. However, both devices need to be running Android 11 or later and have Nearby Share enabled.
- QR Code Sharing (limited models): Some Android phone manufacturers (like Samsung) offer a feature to generate a QR code containing the Wi-Fi password. This can be scanned by another device to connect to the network. Check your phone's settings for this option, but availability varies by model.
On iPhone:
No direct access: Unfortunately, there's no built-in way to view or share the Wi-Fi password on iPhones due to Apple's security restrictions.
Alternative Solutions:
- Look for the password written down: If you haven't changed the default password, it might be printed on the router or modem itself or in the documentation that came with it.
- Contact the Wi-Fi owner: If you're connected to a friend's or family member's Wi-Fi, simply ask them for the password.
- Reset the Wi-Fi password: If you have access to the router, you can reset the Wi-Fi password and create a new one that you can remember.
Important Note:
Rooting your phone (Android) or jailbreaking your iPhone is not recommended to access the Wi-Fi password. These processes can be risky, void your warranty, and potentially harm your device.
Remember, respecting the privacy and security of others' Wi-Fi networks is crucial. Only seek the password for networks you have permission to access.
