When is WiFi 6 released?
Wi-Fi 6, also known as IEEE 802.11ax, was officially released in late 2019. The first Wi-Fi 6 routers and devices (include smartphones and tablets) were available in 2020, and the adoption of Wi-Fi 6 has been growing steadily since then.
Wi-Fi 6 offers a number of improvements over previous Wi-Fi standards, including:
- Faster speeds: Wi-Fi 6 can theoretical speeds of up to 9.6 Gbps, which is about twice as fast as Wi-Fi 5.
- Better performance in congested areas: Wi-Fi 6 uses a number of techniques to improve performance in crowded networks, such as OFDMA and MU-MIMO.
- Increased capacity: Wi-Fi 6 can support more devices on a single network than previous Wi-Fi standards.
- Improved efficiency: Wi-Fi 6 uses less power than previous Wi-Fi standards, which can extend the battery life of devices.
If you are looking for the fastest and most reliable Wi-Fi connection, then Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E are the ways to go. However, it is important to note that not all devices are Wi-Fi 6 compatible yet. If you have older devices, you may need to upgrade them or get a new device that support the standard before you can take advantage of Wi-Fi 6.
